The Titans

When Titans clash

The Tetons cower

The gods and demigods

Fear their awesome power

They roar as if to wake the dead

Pounding on each other’s heads

Displaying fierce looks and scowls

Dripping spittle from their jowls

Reckless chases, their delight

Emitting howls throughout the night

When creeping dawn brings dim light

Pale orange the black fur ignites

The weary Titans seek respite

Pointed ears, laid back no more

Instead curving softly toward the floor

The claws as sharp as scythes in paws withdrawn

Curling up, all energy gone

Appearing now like Russian Cossack hats

Daylight revealing their actual formats

A pair of common household cats
